Alignment
Life is a mirror.
Like a lot of people, I prefer to celebrate the new year in march as we step out of the deep slumber of winter and into the energy of spring. As I mentioned in my December newsletter, winter is a time for intention. A time to ask ourselves the hard questions. In yoga it’s like the first downward dog of the day as you gently move and stretch your body to find alignment. You’re looking for what feels good. You slow down and you’re intentional with each breath and movement.
So maybe now isn’t the time to start new things, but we certainly can plan for them ! We can lay the foundation for spring. Maybe it’s also a time to say goodbye to old versions of ourselves..one’s that we’ve created in difficult times. Those versions have been good to you, but they won’t take you very far on your journey. Thank them. Be grateful for those experiences. And now use them as stepping stones for your new beginning.
We can begin by asking ourselves if we feel aligned with our thoughts, our doings, our existence. Life is a mirror of whats going on inside. So as January quickly flutters by, I am challenging myself to look into the mirror. And with no judgement, I’m going to make each day a little better than the day before.. because I’m building the new me.
“As within, so without.”
