Wellness
But at what cost ?
Anyone else feel like the wellness world is getting out of hand ? It’s like everybody and their brother is hopping on the “feel better” wagon, trying to sell us things to improve our lives and make us feel better and most of all.. live easier. Whether it’s in the form of a pill, a sleep blanket, a fitness gadget, a red light mask or the cream that will wipe years off your face, a little bit of wellness has been crammed into every frame of our lives.
So sure, we can spend a fortune running after years, health, better sleep and ultimately the race to a longer and happier life, but what if I told you that it doesn’t have to be transactional. What if I told you that health, wellness, happiness…whatever you choose to call it… is free.
Somewhere along the way, we forgot that health is a practice and not a product. The practice of aligning mind, body and spirit. A balance between our connection with our bodies, our thoughts, our breath, and also to the world around us.
This is wellness; the back to basics, woven into our biology kind of relationship to ourselves. Take a moment to remember that we already have the keys to the wellness gates. Food that nourishes our bodies. Movement that keeps us supple and energized. Relationships that support and create space for love.
There is nothing more beautiful than witnessing this transformation when wellness is practiced and not purchased. Taking care of yourself is part of the ebb and flow of life. It doesn’t have to be something that you add to your life, it is life.
